In addition to a standard bachelor’s degree, University of Redlands has a branch of alternative education. Through its Johnston Center for Integrative Studies, students may design their own major or combine multiple fields of study. Students at the Johnston Center also have the option to receive evaluations in place of traditional grades.

Study abroad opportunities also abound at University of Redlands, with students spending a year or semester abroad at such prestigious European universities as Oxford, Cambridge and the Sorbonne.

U of R’s music department makes for culturally exciting student life. World-renowned jazz and classical ensembles play regularly at the university’s music center. There are also two theatres where the school’s drama students and outside theatre and dance companies perform.

Admission requirements vary depending on the school to which one is applying. Students interested in the Johnston Center for example, do not need to submit SAT scores, music students must audition, and those in highly academic programs should have a strong academic record.
